Famine Declared in Sudan
Pakistan is facing a severe humanitarian crisis, with 7.9 million people experiencing acute food insecurity. The country struggles with high rates of malnutrition: 18% of children are malnourished, and 40% are stunted (impaired growth and development). Climate shocks, inflation, and floods worsen the situation and increase the reliance on humanitarian aid.
Our teams run lifesaving interventions and resilience-building programs across health, nutrition, food security, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). Nutrition activities include malnutrition screening and treatment, disease prevention, and caregiver training. We also provide medical consultations for women and children, including prenatal and postnatal care, and psychosocial support to address mental health challenges.
To enhance food security, we provide agricultural items, solar-powered boreholes and irrigation tanks, and multi-purpose cash assistance. Additionally, our rapid response teams work to address the urgent medical and nutritional needs of Afghan refugees.

At Action Against Hunger's Farmer Field Schools, agriculture experts teach farmers climate-smart growing techniques, introduce nutritious, resilient crops, and provide practice plots for people to test what they’ve learned.
Learn MoreTo prevent malnutrition by improving diets, we help farmers to set up biofortification programs for their crops designed to fill dietary gaps, such as common micronutrient deficiencies like iron, vitamin A, and Zinc.
Food Security & LivelihoodsA health worker, Nausheen, told me about this center - that they are treating children and provide nutritional care, which is beneficial for children’s health. So, I brought my daughter here and now she is much better than before.”
